Race training - what's it all about?
It is now over 10 years since we started our trainings. Born out of a mixture of our team's love to ride on the racetrack and the wish to provide like-minded customers with an exceptional service. Back then I was still the manager of a large motorbike dealership in Munich. After 27 years of the dealership, I sold the company on January 1st, 2005 and now only work for my secret love: race trainings.
The background of being both a long-time motorbike dealer and a biker since 1976 was there, so I asked myself, what do I expect and what do I want to achieve for my participants?
In the initial years Hans Kossek, who is also a professional in this field and a "biker dinosaur" like myself, gave me a hand and pushed me and my ideas.
We learned quickly by working as sub-organisers for several big organisers. So over time we positioned ourselves on the market, found our target group and never lost track of them since then.
SchrägLage GmbH is not a mass-organiser with 20 or more events a year (you can find the current event dates here). Nevertheless our trainings are extremely professionally executed. We attach the highest importance to safety during our trainings. For example, for our training in Brno we book the large safety package with 3 doctors, 3 paramedics including ambulances, 3 nurses, 56 marshals, CCTV coverage of the complete racetrack, etc. Even if some of the other racetracks are not that perfect, we won't cut costs and will book another ambulance so that everybody has the opportunity to go out on the racetrack. Of course, we are still happiest if the paramedics say good bye with the words "There was nothing for us to do, it was difficult not to fall asleep"
We have a very good service package: as standard it includes tyre service, racing-shop with everything which may be needed (the selection is expanding each time), a box to shelter in, a box to park your motorbike in (if the need arises) and - different from track to track - everything for the body and soul such as coffee, soft drinks, sausages, vitamins, free beer at the end of the day and so on - everything that pops into our minds. We offer a transport service for an extra fee for bike and biker from Munich, or another location if you book early enough.
Apropos riding: we always have comparatively few participants on the track. Waiting times and bunching is pretty much non-existent. Also, in the fastest group you will be able to fight without having to pick riders out of the gravel every few minutes. Our schedule and the different groups is meant to guarantee the most possible fun for all ability classes. Our races at the end for all groups are transponder timed, with the exception of Magione. The races are a lot of fun and the numbers participating are always huge.
The spirit and tone is friendly. New participants and especially racetrack beginners will be warmly welcomed, and integrated into the SchrägLage family straight away. Families with children are welcome as well as singles (for those we also can help to organise a carpool). Also welcome are professional groups, and groups who like to celebrate a bit louder. We divide the different interest groups with the box rental and the allocation of the campsite places in the paddock, so that the quieter groups are together and separate from those planning loud parties all night. The most important thing for us is for you to have fun riding your motorbike and to have a good atmosphere for all participants and in the paddock - as you can see in the photo collection.
